While this cruise passenger’s story is far removed from the typical cruise experience, it serves to drive home a very important tip for all cruisers: Always pack a daypack with your medications, valuables, and anything else you might need for the first few hours onboard. The daypack is a bag that you keep with you. Do not check this bag in at the cruise terminal.
The reason why this is so important is because after you check your bags in with a porter and board the ship, it can sometimes take a significant amount of time before all of your bags are delivered to your stateroom. For passengers with multiple bags, it is common for bags to show up at your stateroom door one or two at a time. Don’t let a simple mistake like this passenger made ruin your much-anticipated cruise vacation.
